VASILIS HANDPAN SOLO
Vasilis Vasiliou is a handpan player, drummer, multi-instrumentalist and composer from Cyprus, performing regularly at festivals, venues & private events. He has performed in various festivals, concerts and projects in Cyprus, Italy, Germany, Austria, England and Greece and collaborated with renowned musicians including Giorgos Dalaras, Marios Fragkoulis, Alexia Vasiliou, Nicola Pizzani, Demetris Lappas and Pantelis Stoikos.
His first touch with the handpan was in 2016. One year later, Vasilis started his solo project in which he covers songs and composes his own melodies, while exploring the handpan through experimentation. His video ‘Carol Of The Bells’ became a YouTube sensation (1.6 million views) and made him well-known to the worldwide handpan community.
Besides being an instructor of the handpan, drums and percussions, Vasilis has developed his Full Set solo Project in which he uniquely combines the handpan with the grooves of other rhythmic percussion creating a mesmerising, playful and uplifting soundscape. In 2018 he started a series of performances in theatres (Golfo - Theatro Dentro (2018), A Midsummer Night’s dream-Kypria Int'l Festival (2022), Antigoni - Int'l Festival of Ancient Greek Drama (2023).
